Aims and scope
The European Journal of Neurology is the international publication for clinical research and reviews published on behalf of the European Federation of Neurological Societies. Since its launch in September 1994, the journal has gained a reputation for attracting innovative and important research. This is borne out by its recent acceptance in Current Contents/Clinical Medicine. It is the major forum for European activity in clinical neuroscience and medical practice. All income generated from the journal will be used to support the development of clinical neuroscience in Europe.
The European Journal of Neurology covers all areas of clinical and basic research in neurology. Emphasis is placed on major diseases of large clinical and socioeconomic importance (dementia, stroke, epilepsy, headache, multiple sclerosis and movement disorders) and on new and rapidly developing areas such as critical care and neurorehabilitation. The journal aims to strengthen links between research workers and clinicians in Europe and other parts of the world.
In addition to original papers of high quality, the journal publishes review and update papers and reports from European consensus groups. Other features are letters to the editor, book reviews, reports on EC neuroscience programmes, European pre- and postgraduate neurological education and news from the EFNS and the national neurological societies. The journal is fully peer reviewed to guarantee the highest scientific standard. The most advanced production methods are used to ensure rapid publication. The European Journal of Neurology is published on a bimonthly schedule and welcomes submission of papers from all parts of the world.
